Athan Pasadis

Athan, born and raised in San Francisco, started playing piano at the age of 5.  A natural gift for music led him to learn guitar and harmonica in his early teens.  By that time he had also developed an interest in electronics, sound, and recording techniques, a passion that remains to this day.  Over the ensuing years he has studied and played several styles including classical, jazz, rock, pop, and traditional Greek music. 

Athan feels fortunate that he was in San Francisco during the 60’s and 70's, and was strongly influenced by many of the pioneers of modern rock including the Stones, Santana, Janice Joplin, the Doors, Creedence Clearwater, and many others who he saw regularly at concerts throughout the area.  He has been in many bands during his diverse musical career and has performed widely throughout the western United States.  Athan's musical roots are in funk and R&B, so he felt right at home when he began playing with John Lonacker in the 80's and Eric Nelson several years ago.  That solid groove remains, and is the reason this band is so tight today.
